Rev. Rich Wolf, Senior Pastor
Richard J. Wolf graduated from Christ Seminary – Seminex in 1977. After 13 years in the restaurant business, Rich began professional ministry in 1990 when he was ordained and accepted a call to serve Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont, WI. He later served at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton, WI and First Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL. |
Rich is particularly interested in leading quality spirit-filled worship and serving Christ through service to the surrounding community. Not surprisingly, both are strengths of the New Hope congregation.
Rich is married to Rachel, who is a Rostered Associate in Ministry (MA Wartburg Seminary) and has served as a community organizer, a hosptial chaplain, and as a visitation and outreach minister. The couple have three grown children and two granddaughters, all living in the Midwest.

Daniel Sigmon - Director of Worship Life & Music
- Interim Communications Coordinator
Daniel Sigmon, composer, conductor, and vocalist, is Director of Worship Life. In addition to his duties at New Hope he is a cofounder and the Musical Director of Imperial Performing Arts, a comprehensive performing art's organization in Sugar Land, Texas and has served as Adjunct Professor of Music at Tomball College in Tomball, Texas. A native of Odessa, Texas, he has studied private composition under Dr. Robert Nelson, Dr. Andy J. Patterson, Virginia Luman, and Samuel Adler.

His original compositions include pieces for solo voice, chamber ensemble, choir, orchestra, opera, and band. Premieres of Mr. Sigmon’s music have been heard in Germany and throughout the Continental United States and Canada. Most recently Mr. Sigmon premiered his third opera, a two act opera at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Lois Gurney - Organist, Director of Children's Music, & Handbells
Lois Gurney is the Organist, Accompanist, and Director of the Children’s and Hand Bell Choirs at New Hope. She also has an active piano studio that spans two counties in the Houston area. She has Licentiates in piano teaching from the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, and degrees from The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa; the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; and Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance degree.

For many years, Lois worked as a professional Double Bass player, playing in South Africa, Europe, Israel, and South America. As an Organist, Lois has performed as soloist and accompanist in South Africa, Europe, Mexico and the United States, including Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Kaye Wilson - Bookkeeper
Kaye Wilson grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating high school, she moved to Houston to attend Texas Southern University. After completing her studies in business administration, concentrating in accounting, she went to work for Cost Consultants, Inc., then Wilson & Wilson Tax Services. Kaye decided after twenty-eight years to leave the accounting world so that she could enjoy the spring. Kaye now enjoys a relaxed life during the springtime without the pressures of tax deadlines.

Kaye joined New Hope Lutheran Church staff part-time to keep busy. She feels that being a steward for God is the most rewarding work she could do. Kaye began in September 2008 as bookkeeper.

June Brown - Office/Property Administrator
Originally from San Diego, California, June Brown has been a member of New Hope since 1983 and the Secretary/Office Administrator since August 2000. June is married to Myron and together they have two grown children.
She as served on the Bazaar Committe for 12 years and as co-Chairperson for 4 of those

years. She has been an indispensible part of the staff and continues to provide New Hope with devoted service and faithful membership.

Robyn Shook - Nursery Attendant
Robyn Shook is the nursery attendant for New Hope Lutheran Church. She has been a member of New Hope since she was adopted by Barbara and Jack Shook in December 1980 and was baptized and confirmed here. She has been working with and enjoying the kids in the nursery since 2003.
Robyn is also an insurance agent for Insurance Solutions of Texas, Nationwide, in Sugar Land. She works in customer service with the commercial and personal lines clients.

Jessica Gestl - Interim Director of Children, Youth, and Family
My name is Jessica Gestl and I am looking forward to serving as the Interim Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries here at New Hope. I recently graduated from Texas Lutheran University in May 2010. I live in Pearland and was previously attending New Life Lutheran Church. I am ready and eager to jump in and get to know everyone, so please come up and introduce yourselves to me.
