Summer Sunday School

Come and join us for a different kind of Sunday School this summer.  It is going to be one big classroom with people of all ages sitting at each table.  We will pick a character from the bible and focus on how they were flawed or a troublemaker, discuss it, and then do an activity together to show how the people of the bible are just like us, not perfect.  Then we will have a snack with coffee and juice available for some fellowship time.  This Sunday School is for everyone, grandparents, kids, twenty something's, Parents, Couples with out kids, and anyone else who isn't described.  We will meet in the community center from 9:15-10:15 am each Sunday beginning June 15th- August 24th. If you would like to help, please contact Maria or Michelle in the church office. We look forward to seeing you this summer for Sunday school.

 
New Hope Friends

You want a great weekly bible study for your children that includes crafts, songs, games, and bible stories? This is the perfect program for your children. It is free, and full of fun. It starts at 5:45pm in the Community Center with pizza, only cost $1.50 a slice, or you can bring your own meal if you want or you can arrive at 6:10pm for the beginning of programming. This year, we are continuing through May 7. Nursery will be provided as well. We can always use more volunteers, either high school students or adults. Any questions, contact Michelle in the church office. We look forward to seeing you this Wednesday evening and make sure to bring a friend.

We will be resuming in September, please come back to see when we will be starting back up again.

Milestones

3rd Grade Bibles

We will be holding a class for 3rd graders and their parents on September 6th at 10am, here at New Hope.  We will be looking at all the different books that are in the Bible, what stories are their favorites, how to find things within the Bible, etc.  We will then be blessing and parents presenting their child a bible on Rally Sunday, September 7th.  Please mark your calendar and let Michelle know if you will be able to attend so that we can have enough bibles for everyone. 

  A New Milestone:  Healthy Pre-schooler

 We want to help give parents tools to help their children grow both physically and spiritually.  This milestone has three classes with the first one focussing on physical development, the second is emotional development, and the last one is spirititual development.  We want to not only focus on the kids, but the needs of the parents as well.  We are very excited about this new milestone and if you would like to participate, please let Michelle know.  We will be holding these classes on:  October 11th, October 18th, and October 25th at 10 am each Saturday.  We will then be blessing each preschooler at church on Sunday, October 26th (Reformation Sunday) along with giving them a pre-school Bible. 

 1st Communion

 We hold a class for 1st graders (or older) and parents to attend were we teach them about what communion is, how we take communion, and show them how it all works.  This year, we are going to move when we do first communion to Maundy Thursday, April 9th, 2009.  Maundy Thursday is a service were we remember Jesus instituting the Lord's Supper with his disciples for the first time, so what a perfect time to celebrate their first communion as well.  We will have more information out in the near future.
