Service and Mission

Caring outreach and service to our local and global community is a high priority at New Hope.  Over the years, the members of New Hope have been instrumental in initiating and supporting several vibrant ministries.

·         New Hope Clinic – Low/no cost health care for people in the Stafford/Missouri City area. Services provided include comprehensive primary care, dental services, behavioral health services, medical case management and treatment support, WIC, pharmacy, laboratory, integrated eligibility, nutrition counseling, family planning, HIV/AIDS services, and health education.   Originally started by New Hope Lutheran Church, the administration of the clinic has passed to the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) and the clinic is now also known as the Fort Bend Family Health Center – Stafford.

·         East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry - Emergency assistance to temporarily disadvantaged individuals and families in the area.  EFBHNM includes a resale shop and a food pantry and is located at 425 Stafford Run Road, Stafford, TX.  Before finding a permanent location, the pantry was located on the New Hope campus.  New Hope along with six other congregations were charter members of this ministry.   (www.humanneeds.org )

·         Fort Bend Family Promise - Family Promise provides shelter, meals, and comprehensive support to families without homes.  About a dozen congregations work together in this ministry.  New Hope provides space on our campus for the Day Center and offices.   (www.fortbendfamilypromise.org )

·         Coalition for Mutual Respect - We are annual participants in the Anti-Defamation League’s effort to bring about trust and mutual respect among different religious communities.

·         Camp Hope – Camp Hope is a three-week summer day camp program open to the community for children kindergarten through sixth grade.  Middle school and high school youth are mentored in leadership with adult supervision.  Camp Hope consists of daily Bible stories that are brought to life and meaning through story-telling, skits, crafts, music, games, and camp-style worship.  New Hope pioneered this program which is now used by several churches in the Synod.

·         El Buen Pastor  – Our sister congregation in Usulatan, El Salvador.  We support the pastor, lay evangelists, and the church rent, exchange visits frequently, assist with agricultural and shrimp farm loan programs, and have provided scholarships for hundreds of students.

·         Lutheran World Relief – An active group of women provide quilts for people in need overseas.

·         Blood Drives – are held quarterly to provide the gift of life to those in need through the Red Cross.

·         New Hope Bazaar – Every year in October, New Hope hosts a large and successful craft bazaar to raise funds for various local and global ministries.  Members of the congregation and wider community participate in this annual event.

·         Community Center – Our gymnasium and other facilities are open for use by groups and organizations by appointment.
