El Buen Pastor

New Hope has a sister church relationship with Iglesia Luterana El Buen Pastor (The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church) in Usulután, El Salvador. New Hope has sent a delegation of members to El Salvador about every three years to build and maintain our relationship. Pastor Julio Chávez Aguilar and members of El Buen Pastor have come to Missouri City to visit our members as well.

Fort Bend Family Promise

Fort Bend Family Promise began in 2005 formed as a coalition of several churches to address the hidden problem of temporary family homelessness.   The first Family Promise Day Center was located in the Old Sanctuary at New Hope Lutheran Church, housing the offices and day facilities for homeless kids and their parents.  In 2016, a new Family Day Center was built with leadership from New Hope Lutheran members on the Fort Bend Family Promise board of trustees.   In 2020, Family Promise expanded its Mission to include a new Day Center in Rosenberg as well.  New Hope members provide meals and financially support housing for approximately 40 families a year going through crisis, empowering them back to self-sufficiency.  Several New Hope members have contributed computers and even vehicles to this important interfaith ministry.

Armstrong Elementary Partnership

Armstrong Elementary Partnership

New Hope is in partnership with nearby Armstrong Elementary School to support their teachers and staff in the education and wellbeing of students in our community.  Our mission is simple:  to demonstrate love to our neighbors as we are called to do.  Mentoring; reading with a student; encouraging and praying for teacher/student success are some of the ways we reach out to fulfill our mission.

East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry

New Hope supports the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, our local Food Pantry. Many neighbors in our community often face a temporary financial crisis or have difficulty providing balanced meals for their households. Combining with many local congregations, EFBHNM shows through our unified interfaith efforts, God’s love and response to those in need. Thousands in East Fort Bend County are served each year through the EFBHNM Food Pantry, Financial Assistance, and the Tri-Cities Resale Shop.
