More than a year ago several New Hope members embarked on a LEAD (Living Everyday as Disciples) journey. LEAD is a Gulf Coast ELCA Synod program led by Peggy Hahn to provide spiritual leadership for congregations. With the advent of and under the leadership of Pastor Chris a renewed effort is underway.
A congregation assessment placed New Hope at 60% regarding becoming and growing and this result reflect a positive thrust.
The team is dedicated to the Tune in Process, tuning into God through prayer, reflection, in the neighborhood, and scripture study.
We are convinced that leading through a time of great change requires resiliency, courage, and clarity for relentless experiments to:
Listen. Tuning in to God's call, to God's mission, doing justice in our own neighborhood and the world.
Center. Waking up to a deeper relationship with God, purposeful community, and our own identity.
Explore. Digging down beneath the surface to ask questions, opening our mindset to create systems that reflect God's love.
Connect. Working out of our comfort zone to expand relationships to reflect the diversity of God's creation.
The current team members are: Pastor Chris, Kim Truitt, Diane White, Tom Ohman, Heather Kaiser-Hahn, Alan Wilken and Michael Ditsky. The team meets monthly.
