The Giving Tree - Project S.M.I.L.E

Every Advent Season, New Hope erects a Christmas tree in the narthex of the main building that is called "The Giving Tree."  Members are encouraged to bring toys and other gifts that are unopened and still in their packaging for children and adults of all ages and place them under the tree.  As the pile under the tree grows it is a testament to the generosity and loving, Christian spirit that is the essence of the Christmas tradition that began with the St. Nicholas celebrations.  After the 3rd Sunday in Advent, New Hope delivers the gifts to Project S.M.I.L.E where families that would otherwise be unable to exchange Christmas gifts are given the chance to "shop" for gifts for their families without a charge.
