Stuff We Do for Women
Among the many import things that we foster at New Hope is community and friendship. We provide lots of opportunities for members to get together, but it is also important that women be able to bond with each other as well. Below are some of the programs especially for women.
Ladies' Quilting Group
Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday
9:30 - 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall
The Ladies' quilt group meets twice a month during the morning to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. It doesn't require a high level of sewing or quilting experience. Anyone that is interested in good conversation and quilting is welcome to be a part!
The Ladie's Table Extravaganza takes place once a year in usually in February. Individual women volunteer to "host" a table which they then proceed to decorate with any theme of their choosing. They are responsible for inviting guests to have lunch with them. For those just interested in attending, available spaces at tables will be distributed to those interested in attending without a direct invitation. A light lunch is served and entertainment is provided. The men serve as chefs and waitstaff.
The Lunch Bunch is a once a month gathering at different restaurants in the Fort Bend County/West Houston area. Part of the fun is trying all the different food fare that can be found in the Houston area. All women who are available during the day are welcome to attend.
Ladies' Bible Study
Every Thursday - 9:30 AM
The Ladies' Bible study is a chance to study the Bible from a uniquely female perspective. Light snacks and wine are served. The topics in the class vary from season to season but always related to biblical study.
Every 2nd Monday
5:30 PM - at Old Hickory Inn BBQ at the Township in Missouri City
Bunco! And that's exactly what it is. A chance to roll the dice, eat, drink, and catch up with the ladies. All women are welcome to join. There is an opportunity to buy dinner but it is not required.
